Global GISolutions was founded in 2008 by Gayle Neufeld.

Gayle holds a BS and MA in Biology, and most recently has been a PhD candidate in Marine Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, which included a graduate level education in GIS.

Gayle has been conducting biological and environmental studies in Alaska for 12 years and GIS analysis and data management for 5 years. Prior to founding Global GISolutions LLC, Gayle worked for such agencies as Alaska Dept. Fish and Game, the National Park Service, and US Fish and Wildlife service, as well as the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Before moving to Alaska, Gayle worked in NJ and Wisconsin.

Examples of projects Gayle has worked on include long-term monitoring of lakes and streams, habitat assessments and delineation, biological inventories, biodiversity studies, genetic studies of red king crab and tanner/snow crab hybrids, injury assessment of red king crab, molting and mating cycles of commercially important crab species, determination of essential fish habitat and habitat of particular concern, parasitic infection and crab diseases, estimating spatial distribution and seasonal migration behavior of blue king crab, genetic and age on adult chum salmon and steelhead trout, identification and observing bird behavior, and tracking radio-collared timber wolves.
